Micro Gate Out Not Fully Closing

How do I fix this?

I'm using the micro to control a eurorack modular setup.

I am running an oscillator module into my VCA and using the Microbrute gate out to open and close the VCA.  As soon as I plug the gate from micro into the VCA there is a drone.  It increases in volume when I trigger it by pressing a key, but there is always a drone.  If I manually open the VCA there is no drone, so I know that my issue is with the brute.  Any suggestions?

Help is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Owen

The VCA in my modular has a manual level control that actually goes "below" zero.
For cases like this, I would tune down the manual level until the drone cuts out.
Maybe yours does as well? (My VCA is a custom design - I'm not sure what your Eurorack VCA's capabilities are.)
If not, maybe you can mix a negative voltage into your VCA's CV port, and tweak it until it just cuts off the drone.
