Volca sample & BSP
« on: September 08, 2016, 07:16:47 pm »
Hello!!

I would like to know is it possible to map pads in BSP to control individual samples in Volca sample?

I've been reading some polls about it, but honestly I don't know what is true and what is not.

Please, if you know some way to program BSP to control VS I appreciate it very much.

I run win7 and ubuntu 14.04, unfortunately doesn't have mac which could make my question become obsolete.

Thanks in advance fellows ;)

Hi eye in the mind.

As the VS has each sample on a different midi channel from 1-10 the easiest option is to buy one of these https://www.retrokits.com/rk002/ and watch the sonicstate video on how to set it up.

the second option you can in the control map of MCC set each pad of BSP to a different channel

for example :

pad1 midi note 32 channel 1

pad 2 midi note 64  channel 2  and so on.

this way when you press a pad on the BSP it would trigger a sample on the VS on that channel

but this is in control mode you can manually trigger (/toggle depending on your setting in MCC)  samples from the VS but you can't sequencer this.

Because on the BSP each step is locked to the midi channel of sequencer so if seq1 is on midi channel 6 all steps and notes in seq1 are on midi channel 6.

further more the BSP can only sequence a maximum of 3 midi channels at any one time so you would be limited to triggering just 3 samples from the VS.

Hope all that make sense regards Dog01.
