beatstep/cubase 7/moog sub phatty
« on: December 31, 2016, 06:01:48 pm »
I have a weird problem I'm using my beatstep pro to control my Moog Sub Phatty in Cubase 7 via USB (windows 10)
I randomly get skipped or half notes it feels like the moog dosn't have enough attack or is too slow to be triggered by the beatstep, other times it will work just fine.
I'm aware that this is just as likely to be a Cubase or Sub Phatty problem, but wondered if anyone had run into anything similar. I have a video showing what it does here, the second and third bars show the sort of drop outs I'm getting.

Happy new year! :)

Hello,
I have the BeatStep Pro by a few days and my Sub Phatty is a month old, so I'm not an experienced user, but I try to help you anyway.

Did you check values of the randomness/probability knobs?

If these are zero, have you tried connecting the BSP directly to the Phatty via MIDI din and/or with another patch?
Is the behavior the same?

Maybe the patch has some modulation settings that cause the problem in combination with gate/velocity settings on the sequencer.

Try a patch "from scratch" (Active Panel + Initialize Preset).

I haven't Cubase so I can't help you on that.

Let me know.
