Feature request: improve individual drum muting
« on: July 29, 2016, 11:34:34 am »
Hello,
Problem: i need both hands for muting/unmuting of individual drums.
Solutions:
  • have my other external controller muting and unmuting the individual drums tracks of my beatsteppro via midi.
  • toggle the individual mute mode by pressing the mute button. mute all drums at once by pressing both drum and mute.

is any of this possible and practicable or am i missing something?

I'll guess, that you already know, that you can use shortcut [Drum] + [Mute] to mute individuial drums,...

...they could implement it through midi with some external buttons (would be kinda usefull),
but your second request is just about switching the regular function of device. (and that could be thought bit more complex)

i would rather have possibility to toggle to separate drum muting mode:

(for example [shift] + [mute] would enable a mode, where you will with press of [drum] + [mute]:
-enter direct tap mute mode, in that: you could directly tap an pad which would mute it / un-mute it.
-pressing (and releasing) of [mute] alone with some individually muted pads already active would act as nowadays and it would reset the mute of all...
[drum] + [mute] again for sequencing as usual.
[shift]+[mute] again for default ( [drum] + [mute] + [pad1-16] ) behavior. )

i was just suggesting.. i'd be happy with any solution for not having to hold buttons while muting individual drums.
being a developer i wouldnt dare to guess which solution would be more difficult to achieve. ;)

I would love it if there was a way to mute a drum, then select it by tapping it it wouldn't make a sound. It causes many unwanted drumhits before creating a drum pattern from the sequencer.

To do this just hold drum and select the pad you want.

Thanks!
If there was a way to set up bsp in mcc to work the opposite way, it'd be nice.
