iPad Pro 9.7 won't connect to SparkLE

I have the apple USB to lightning cable.  All the lights run when connecting, ending with the Spark mode LED but nothing else after that.  It doesn't matter if I have iSpark running or not, it never makes it to lighting up any other lights.  ISpark does not see it at all.  I looked under the connection page and the midi tab but no clues.

SparkLE works fine when connected to my PC

Anyone else have this problem?

Running iSpark with Spark LE on an iPad 9.7 on latest iOS here without any problems: after some moments, the controller connects to iSparc, and then communication is running smooth both ways.

Do you use an original apple camera connection kit? I use the new one, allowing lightning usb power connection, plus an available USB-port (for the Spark LE connection) at the same time.
