Flute Salad preset in CS-80 V3
« on: July 27, 2016, 12:56:19 am »
I have a track in which I'm using the Flute Salad patch. It sounded great in Analog Lab and CS-80 V2, but when hearing it in CS-80 V3, I find it hard to agree that the sound engine has been improved. The Flute Salad here sounds much different, i.e. very poor. While it previously had this breathy depth with some reverb, it now sounds dull, flat and fakey.
It will cause me to not assume that presets with names from previous versions sound identical.

As i have said in other threads, then old presets can sound different in VC5 when using the same settings. The jury is still out on the VC5 sound.

However. In CS80-V3 the Flute Salad preset don't have any reverb. If you put on 0.2500 reverb amount on like in the V2 version, then you might have a better sound to compare. Also you need to adjust the volume. Perhaps there are more adjustments needed.

I think many old presets is not translated correct in VC5. And they are not adjusted to the new soundengine. New presets made for VC5 is better to present VC5 as it is.

In Analog Lab you might need to check the settings too if you use Analog Lab.

Try increasing the Delay 'mix' value.
