Beatstep sending "junk" midi to cubase

I've noticed that the beatstep sends a lot of midi stuff that i really dont want, for example its sending some message that changes Bars+Beats to Timecode, i also noticed it had a nasty habbit of sending other junk to NordDrum2 which was altering one of the sound parameters. Is there some way to turn all this off so that it doesnt send usless stuff that i dont want?

Are you running the BSP as the midi master or are you slaving it?  Get something to monitor the midi data being sent by the BSP.  Something like Midiox.  Check what the data is that is coming from the BSP and see if they match controllers used by your software.

It handles MIDI in from the DAW and it sends this as a clock to my modular. I'll look into midiox. Thanks

I have similar behavior : even with  all the sequence empty,  the BSP sends midi data related to pitch bend to my Waldorf PULSE 2. I just bought a MidiBro (Mutable Instrument  MIDIPAL clone)  for troubleshooting/filtering.

Hi,
The beatstep pro sends CCs when stop /rec / start buttons are pressed, I think these messages can start or stop other sequencers. Default CCs are 51, 55, and 16 respectively. In the MCC you can switch this off, or change the MIDI channel in the 'Transports' section.. Could it be that these CCs mess up your Nord drum2 / other gear's programs?

You can turn them off, but then any devices that don't use MMC won't start and stop when you use the BSP, plus MMC does not include sync data.
In other threads I have listed more usable CC with my reasons for using them (123, 124, 127).  Thinking about it, there is no reason why they can't all just send CC124.  I can't think of a time where omni mode is a desirable play mode except when there is only one midi sound module in a chain or trouble shooting, so using it should cause no issues with other devices.

I'm having similar issues. Sometimes it sends weird commands to Cubase. Tracks get armed out of nowhere. Yes and it also changed the resolution from Bars n beats to Samples.
