Is there a way to control mutilple synths in DAW mode?
« on: December 30, 2015, 07:17:01 pm »
I have my BSP connected via USB into my CPU, and I have a MIDI hub which is connected to all of my hardware synths.

I can only get my BSP to send out all sequencer patterns simultaneously to any of my synths. I also notice there is only one BSP midi input in my DAW.

So through my above process (USB only), is there not any way to only send SEQ1 to one synth and SEQ2 to another synth? If no, are there any other options to doing this without using the CV outputs?

Just set your synths to receive on different MIDI channels. By default, the BSP uses 1,2 and 10, but you can change that in MCC if you want.

I believe that was done.

Ok so now that I know it is possible...Could it be an issue with the internal routing in my MIDI hub then?

What's the "MIDI hub" specifically, and what's it connected to?
What software are you running on the PC?

What wasn't working with the MIDI channel only config, exactly? Were devices set to channel 1 also playing the sequence from channel 2? Were they not getting any info?

I don't know cubase at all but most DAWs will let you route an input to a track and that track to a different output. So you'd point the BSP at three different cubase tracks and then point those cubase tracks at the hardware ports/channels you want.

If you have to (you shouldn't) the iConfig app for your ICM4 will let you route and filter any input/channel to any output/channel.

Figured it out!

I had to change a setting in Cubase's Input Transformer menu. Yay  :)

I love Cubase and how deep it is, but it's not always so user friendly.   :P
