MIDI learn on BSP not working?

Most synthesizers or drum machines DON'T want to "midi learn" from BSP...

Why is that?

 I have it all correctly activated. (I know because they work with my other midi controller).

What do I have to do, when I want to assign MIDI on channel 2 or ch. 10? Do I need to change MIDI channel to Ch.2/10 respectively?... It's a mystery to me...since midi channels are not saved with scenes...what happens, how does it work?

I tried both ways...(changing midi controller to ch.2,etc) still it doesn't learn...What is going on?

In the control center go to controller map tab and for each knob, assign midi ports to usb, midi or both, by default, they are set up in midi only so they won't transmit over usb whil in controller mode...Hope this helps...
