Just bought Microbrute- Sequencer not recording/working
« on: July 20, 2015, 04:09:32 pm »
Hi, i just got my micro brute (second hand) and all works fine except the sequencer. I have a flashing fred light on Rate but no red light on Play and switching to record does nothing. The sequencer simply isn't working and there are no patterns playing, nothing is paying or recording. As I say the rest of it is working fine. Ive not connected the synth to my computer yet I'm simply plugged into my studio monitors which shouldn't make a bit of difference should it?
Ive read a lot about this prob but didn't expect it to happen out of the box. Maybe thats why it was sold on. How do i rectify or reset this thing to see if it will work?
Any help desperately needed asap.
Thanks in advance.

Hey !

Like explained here: http://forum.arturia.com/index.php?topic=14320.0

The latest Microbrute firmware version sets the synth so that the sequencer only runs when it receives a gate signal to its Gate In input at the back.

To change this, download and install the Microbrute connection software if you have not already:

http://www.arturia.com/support/updates&manuals#microbrute

Launch it, and set the "Step On" parameter at top right to "Clk". This way, the sequencer will run on its own clock.

Also, make sure that the "Sync" parameter is not set to EXT, otherwise the sequencer will only start when it receives a MIDI start message.

Hope this helps ! :)
