Something many people must have read on synth boards, youtube and such is the objection that a softsynth emulation never can sound as good, full, realistic as its analog hardware example. Another objection is that a softsynth can only exist as long as it's supported. That also means that it depends on the driver system (Windows, Mac) and also the bit version (32 or 64 currently). A real synth could last for decades, provided it will be serviced adequately on a regular basis.
What I am wondering about is if it will remain possible in the future, let's say 5 or 10 years from now, to keep on using the Arturia synths, even though technology will advance and system drivers and computers will keep on increasing their capacities.
Is there an expiry date for the softsynths, or will they last as long as Arturia exists? What can the current users expect?
