Mouse control on knobs quirky

When run as a VST I found the control knobs on MMV2 to be very quirky. If the mouse just touches one (when the mouse is clicked) the MMV2 contol knob is too sensitive and moves much too quickly. In stand alone mode you can choose how you want to control the knobs. Is there a way to do this in VST mode?

Check your host - it should have a way to set to "linear" or "circular" response. Choose linear.

I've been using Chainer, and there is no such preference. I've checked every menu and the help file. Now that I think about it, I don't believe I have it in Sonar 3 either.
Thanks anyway.
