I have a fair amount of different set ups for different devices, I use the MCC a great deal and is one of the most useful things in the Arturia range. The changeover from the last incarnation of the application wasn't exactly flawless but I have now ported all my settings over to the new application.
A couple of things I'd like to see in the application, 1 Copy and Paste and 2, selective parameters when updating the device.
1. Copy and Paste - A no brainer really but lets say you want to set up all 16 encoders on the beatstep with the same values but using different CC numbers. Control mode, option is absolute and the midi channel 1 with min and max values. It would be ideal to set 1 encoder and copy that, pasting to the other 15. You can then fly through the encoders changing the CC value to the desired number. Same with pads, it's a bit tedious having to go through each pad and encoder making sure they are all set the same.
Some users might have a beatstep a Spark or a SparkLE and a Keylab or Laboratory and to cut down the time in the workflow for these repetitive tasks would be ideal.
2. This only really would be useful for the beatstep but I find that when setting up patches or sequences, I rarely need 16 for one song or idea. So I save a single patch per idea. This means I have loads of patches saved with maybe only 1 or 2 sequences. I then have another list of patches saved which are purely for the CC numbers and control aspect of the Beatstep. It would be nice to see a checkbox where you could choose with part you wanted to send to the beatstep, either sequence data or control information. This would give you better control of you patches and would enable you to build complex arrangements on the beatstep without having to reconfigure.
Lets say you have specific control set up for each of the Arturia synths but want to save different sequences for each synth without overwriting the CC parameters. By having a checkbox in the Templates window, you could choose either Sequence data or Control data when storing to the device. They could be a always use both option for those who don;t care.
Cheers, Stuart
