new owner questions
« on: July 11, 2014, 10:22:32 am »
I have a keylab 49. Very nice but I'm new to synthesisers and this is a good place to get help. After all, this forum is the reason I was able to get the KB to work on windows 7. No thanks to MS here.
First, When I use the pads, Pad one is in G key when it should be C. I can't find a solution to this. It may be there but I don't see it.
second. Is there no need for a tempo setting with a synth? Why is that?
third. Are there no drums in the 5000 pre-sets? I can't find any and I'm only 1/4 way thru listening to them all.

Looking down the list, I can see that not many get a reply and very few get more than one. Apparently lots can't get their keylab working. Well I did and I'm no computer freak. Not very up on synths so my Q,s may be causing a giggle here and there. So tell me if they are.

more q,s
When I load MCC,  get no sound but the control centre console shows midi note on and off when I use them.
Shouldn't I be getting sound too?
I cannot use with sonar 1. Is this program too old or is there something I should load from CW.
I have keylab 49 in the Instruments section but nowhere to send it to (unless I use GM XG or NI)
Hoping for some help.

Hi bobby555!

"Pad one is in G key when it should be C"
You can set your pads in the MCC

"Are there no drums in the 5000 pre-sets?"
Launch Analog Lab, click on the 'Type' column and scroll to 'Percussive'

"When I load MCC,  get no sound"
The MCC is not a virtual instrument, it's a software to setup your MIDI keyboard; so it's totally normal it doesn't produce any sounds if you hit a key or a pad when using the MCC.

"I cannot use with sonar 1"
We only ensure the compatibility of our soft from Sonar X2.

Hope I answered all your questions.

Best,

J.
