Newbie question about monophonic triggering....

Hello!
I am used to playing some monophonic synths by holding down a note and playing another quickly in a staccato fashion, which sometimes makes some cool effects depending upon the portamento settings, etc.

This works in AF, but some patches allow me to re-trigger with any new now and some only work if the new note value is below the original pitch. For example, the patch BIG_DIRTY_BS for the Prophet V let's me play this technique with any note value - if I hold down a "D" I can play a "G" above it and it sounds.  The patch DISTO_BASS only let's me do this with note values lower than the held down note.

They both are set to 8 voice UNISON, so I can't figure out what is different between the patches.  

Does anyone have any light to shed on this behavior?

Well I guess I will add to my own question - now that I have some of the real instruments I notice that they have a "Mode" switch from Low, High and Last that changes this parameter.  I don't see anywhere to change this in AF, so I think it must be saved in the patch and not modifiable in the limited abilities of AF.

It's probably a minor thing, but if your are looking for a feature to implement, I would like to have that choice in addition to the Unison, Mono and Poly option there already.
