I set up a patch from Cakewalk's SONAR 3 to use an audio track (recording of a live drummer) into the MMV. To make the tutorial even more interesting I use the external audio to trigger an envelope follower. The follower is used to drive the MMV sequencer. Result: A bass line which follows the drummer.
