Organizing presets
« on: July 26, 2004, 10:05:18 am »
Does anyone know the best way to organize presets into new banks apart from re-saving and naming them one at a time ?
Is it possible to do it from the finder ?

Many Thanks

As far as I can determine, this is the only way to do it.  If Arturia know a better method, I'd really like to know.

I looked at renaming the folders and files as they appear on disk, but there is a .dat file associated with them, and unless you are able to main consistency in the new names, heartache ensues.   You might be able to use the export function and then edit the exported file.  I don't know, its been a while since I looked at this.

If would be nice if Arturia provided a tool, but if they do not wish to produce one, then maybe with their agreement, I could knock out something in Visual Basic.  Depends on how much interest there is in this.

We are thinking on providing a tool to browse, organize reorganize and select the presets.  Some information could be shown about the preset (cpu, sound type, sound aspect, ...)  For the moment, just thinking

This application should be running independently of the VSTi.
