TDM or RTAS with PTHD2?
« on: May 23, 2004, 01:04:37 am »
I am using a ProToolsHD2 rig with ProTools 6.4 and Panther, and it seems that the only reliable way to use cs80v is by inserting it on an audio track as RTAS. Sometimes, inserting it as TDM works, but 1) when more than four notes play at the same time, crackles occur in the sound output, and 2) MIDI notes get stuck. This doesn't happen in RTAS-mode, but since I am also using MachFIVE (which needs to be an RTAS-plug) and my CPU gets eaten up, I would love to use cd80v as a TDM plugin. Is this realistic? (By the way, the cs80v sounds terrific!)

Hello,

On the very next version of the CS-80V, it will be HTDM compatible, BUT this doesn't mean that it will run on Digidesign TDM hardware, and then save CPU. It just means that you can insert it any where you want.

By the way, this version will also save some CPU especially on MAC when using RingMod !
