No tech support, no log in, no nothing...
« on: June 17, 2004, 03:11:24 am »
Guys,

I emailed tech support *months* ago, and never heard from them. I just tried to log in (I do have my username and password) and I get a message claiming that my account is inactive or that I have an incorrect user name of password (I do not, I am copying and pasting that information from my Arturia registration email).

Why are so many things not working right?

System: Powerbook G4, 1.33 Ghz, 1 gig of RAM, OS 10.2.8 (cannot upgrade to Panther -other software I have -and need- is not Panther ready yet).

Problems: Many, among them:

Lots of stuck notes when used in standalone mode, and also when receiving MIDI data generated from Max/Msp patches. It is happening at random, but seems more frequent when playing in the low register. I am rarely playing chords, I use the MMV for leads only. It seems to happen with all patches. It just happened with the preset patch "Oasis" for example, and the CPU meter was quite low at the time.

I use NI's Absynth in the same system with no problem whatsoever. I have tried sending the exact same MIDI data (note on and note off messages only) to both MMV and Absynth from a very simple Max/Msp patch. I have run this test dozens of times (I stopped counting at 58). The result is always the same:

Absynth: no problem whatsoever.
Hardware synths: no problem whatsoever.
MMV: stuck notes happen unpredictably.

When a note gets held, sending an all notes off message from another application does not turn off the note. The only thing that works is the panic nutton on the MMV. BUT, after this happens once, it will begin to happen every time after that.

Another one (the one I emailed Tech support without receiving any response):

MMV does not seem to respond to Control Change messages, again in standalone mode, when sent from either an Oxygen 8 controller, or from simple Max/Msp patches.

All my other hardware and software synths respond perfectly to these CC messages, the MMV is the only one that cannot handle it.

Could you please be so kind as to solve these problems for me now, or would it be possible to get a refund for this program?

Many thanks!

carlos
