RIFF or LIVE mode ??
« on: November 06, 2010, 04:30:00 pm »
I have used sequencers for many years but I am now entering the soft synth area and I don’t play live keyboard, but I do prepare MIDI songs that are played directly from my sequencer (Sonar 8.5 producer).

My question is: If I want to use BRASS to play out one or more tracks of a MIDI song, which one should I use, RIFF or LIVE mode?

The idea is that I have a sequence with several tracks of wind instruments and I would like BRASS to play out at least one of those tracks (as I am trying to have NI Kontak & Sample Modeling Mr. Trumpet  playing out another track) and I need to know which one mode is the best for that. I also would like BRASS ( if I finally get it to sound the way I want it = real ) not only ONE but ALL wind tracks of the song at the same time. Will this make a difference in the MODE I should use?

THANKS

In a MIDI songs Live mode a specially used when we have to play only one instrument at a time like keyboard so when it comes to brass you should go with RIFF only!!
