Instability in Logic Studio 8
« on: November 15, 2009, 09:20:07 pm »
The analog factory plug in crashes Logic all the time especially when changing patches. Also, the MiniMg V presets do not work at all. Any suggestions? Is there an update for this plugin coming anytime soon? It seems very finicky.

Did you run a test on the plug-in from the Logic AU Manager?

Any suggestions on this? Are other people having the same problem?

bump. still can't use the MiniMg V, it causes audio output to silence, occasional clicks. not a CPU issue as the others work fine, just miniMg

Hi, I have the same problem with AF 2.5 when used as an AU plug-in in Logic Express 8.
Most (but not all) of the MiniMg presets don't work. However they work fine when using AF as a stand-alone application.
The AU validation succeeds without any problem.

I can also confirm that AF causes Logic express to crash. Unfortunately this happens when opening again a project, so you may think that everything was fine when you saved the project, but you'll have the surprise when trying to re-open it.

I also had the already reported problem of losing all the Favourites when upgrading to version 2.5.

I will soon upgrade to Logic Express 9, but I will also like to have a sort of AF 2.5.1 patch and an explanation for this unexpected behaviour.

mchericoni upgrading logic will not fix your problem

this is I think a mac issue, it existed in the last release of AF, and the 2.5 release fixed it for a week or so but then it came back

miniMg does not work, or worse outputs loud pops followed by silence

running multiple instances will crash Live, and not because of CPU overload, they crash mostly on plug in load, or when browsing presets

word of the wise: treat arturia synths as real analog - meaning capture everything as audio, your presets and sessions are no garuntee that you've got the thing. super unstable stuff always.

yes, upgrading to Logic 9 didn't solve the problem.
Anyway I'm doing exactly what you suggested: treating AF as a real analog, with all its glitches and instability, using the stand-alone application and using Soundflower to pass audio to Logic.

Hi!
I´m just wondering if you have reached some sort of solution about the miniMg-problem in AF? I have just bought the product and experience the same thing, though in Logic 9 with mac OS 10.6.4. I am very disappointed of course because I would like to use all of the promised presets of course. Have you had any response from support about the issue? Apparently many more have the same problem...

Cheers!

Hi,
no, I didn't have any response from support about this, and I first opened the issue on 5th April.
The only solution I found is to use AF stand-alone, which is annoying but it works.
I don't know what's so special about the miniMg presets and, being a software developer myself, I wonder why it should be so hard to deliver a patch, or even a little hotfix, for that.

By the way, this should be under the MINIMg SOUNDS NOT WORKING topic, but it's related to AF 2.5 problems anyway.

I agree with most people here, I am experiencing the software as highly unstable when working within Logic. Lots of crashes, hiccups, loud pops and silence. Unusable in fact. Which is a shame, because the instrument is great when in working order. Apple's or Arturia's fault - I don't care but need a solution - pleeeease!

AF2.5, Logic 9 (all versions) OS X 10.6.4

I agree with pertidstrand and it's not only the miniMg sounds but the combination with snow leopard and/or logic in general.. should be solved soon otherwise we need to spread the word about the "great products"
