Can i register multiple products under mulitple names?

My 2 partners and I recently took advantage of the Buy one get 2 free offer.
Can each of us register a product in our own names?
And how would that work exactly, as I understand the 3rd item can't be had until the other 2 have been authorized?
Or am I not understanding something correctly

All 3 instruments from this offer must be registered to the same user account.

However, you will get 3 different eLicenser activation codes (one per product).
Each activation code can be used independently (on different computers or on different USB-eLicenser dongles), but there is only one registered user.
