JP8 First Impressions
« on: September 03, 2010, 11:24:29 pm »
Hi

I just downloaded the JP8 V the other day and have a number of issues with it.
As other posts confirm the CPU usage is ridiculous. A pad with a bit of release instantly pushes the CPU % way up over 50% on my system (Athlon 3800+, 2GB RAM, XP SP3).
It also seems quite buggy. I've had more crashes in the last 2 days than I've had with all the other Arturia synths I own (MM V2, ARP 2600 V2, CS80 V2) put together.

If it doesn't get any better I'm going to ask to swap the JP8 for the Prophet 5 instead. I paid good money and I want a synth that works well.

Your other synths are brilliant Arturia, but the JP8 needs some work to make it usable.

Anyway, that's my 2'pence worth :)

On my 2007 MacbookPro (4GB RAM) the usage is between 10% and 28%.
While I too am all in favor of Arturia Updates, (especially making controller
patching maps more consistently recalled) I do get a lot of professional use
out of JP8 even the way it is.
