Amount & Polarity suggestion
« on: February 10, 2010, 03:30:35 pm »
In the modules, several Inputs and Outputs have a couple of knobs Amount and Polarity.

When an Input or Output is connected to more than one module (and this is not so infrequent), if we need to set the Amount of two connections, we have to:
- select the connection list
- select the first module to be set
- unselect the connection list
- select the Amount button
- set the Amount
- unselect the Amount button
- select the connection list
- select the second module to be set
- unselect the connection list
- select the Amount button
- set the Amount

When the Amount or the Polarity button is selected, the Up and Down navigation arrows currently have no effect.

Why not use them to browse through the different connected modules?

The previous operations would reduce to:
- select the Amount button
- select the first module to be set (with Up or Down)
- set the Amount
- select the second module to be set (with Up or Down)
- set the Amount

That would make settings easier and faster.

Yes. We're thinking of a way to get this simpler. When a connection popup is opened you see all the connections to the module's IO pin. One idea is to also show all connection attributes and allow their editing there, not only when the popup is closed.

By the way, could you add a way to display the value of a parameter without having to change it

Yes. We've been thinking of that since a while. An idea is to show the little popup which contain the name and the value of the parameter at the bottom of the screen not only when you click the graphic but simply when you navigate on it.
