No sound from VCA2

Try this: (v 2.6.3 MacOS 10.8, Cubase 7 or Logic 9 as host, 32 bits):
- open Templates/Blank/Blank synth preset
- connect OSC 1 sawtooth to VCA2 input
- raise VCA2 volume to maximum
- play

-> no sound.

Works fine with VCA1. VCA2 works when loaded from other preset. Similar problems have been reported on this thread: http://www.arturia.com/evolution/smf/index.php?topic=2515.0

I'm on version 2.6.3 which appears to still have the same bug (if it is a bug). No sound coming from VCA2 . Would love to know if anyone has figured this out yet.
[updated] further poking around in the forum revealed my answer - the input trigger to vca2 is left blank in the template and I had to assign a keyboard trigger to it as discussed at:
