Mircobrute as a Midi to CV controller?

Hi,  I didn't see a forum for the Microbrute yet so hopefully it's ok to post this here.  I am getting a small semi-modular synth and need a midi to CV controller.  Seeing that a halfway decent one would cost at least half of what a microbrute would cost I was wondering if I could just use the micro as a midi to CV controller and then also get the additional synth features as well?

Can I just route midi in directly to a CV output to power the external modular?

I don't have the Microbrute...but you should be able to control the modular via CV.....but not with Midi....and it will not power the modular either...just CV out to control the modular.
