Brand New Keylab 49 does not connect to Analogue Lab

Followed instructions to setup & authorise Keylab.  Installed & authorised Analogue Lab, and cannot get the keyboard to sync with the software.  In Audio MIDI Settings, there is a Keylab 49 in the MIDI Devices, however it will not stay checked.  Without it the keyboard doesn't do anything.

did you attach your device to an usb hub or directly in you computer?

Can you read the letters on your keyboards display clear?
