minibrute click sound??

hello. i am completely new to analog synthesis. i bought one minibrute of ebay for 400 dollars listed open box condition and it arrived like a new item, anyway, i plugged it in, let it warm up for 10 minutes, and when i start experimenting with it, i keep on hearing a mysterious 'click' sound, semi like a percussion sound when both substains are down. is this usual minibrute behaviour or did i receive a broken item or what? i am a noob and would like to get a explenation about this sound if anyone can relate.... thanks

It's normal analog behavior to hear clicking with some envelope settings.

Voltage goes through the envelope stages in series even when they are turned down, I think.

Virtual synths have perfect virtual envelopes, which is probably what you are used to.

I think as long as your click is a very brief snappy sound, you're fine.

Well it is not a ugly sound or anything like that, just not used to it and i was surprised and afraid something was wrong! The world of analog is new to me, and it is great to know that this is not unusual analog behavor. I love the sound of the thing so far. Thanks for fast answer! Further explanations would be nice though, since the sound does not always appear, only on different settings, but there is no pattern, when i am playing a melody , it just comes randomly, mostly when i am not holding notes long. Some explanation from Arturia member would be fantastic!

totally normal. in fact it's desirable in a lot of situations, especially for stabs / percussive sounds. one of the huge pros of the minibrute imho.

usually happens when attack is very low or decay+sustain are very low.

take a picture and upload it when its making the clicks and we will tell you why.
