Saving MIDI controller assignments
« on: June 27, 2006, 05:49:19 am »
I've now tried this in 2 hosts (Numerology and Live), using os x, 10.4.5. I tried it with the audio unit.

I can get the automation via midi controllers working great. It's a really nice implementation...except that that the assignments are not saved with the patch. If I quit the project and come back, they are all lost.

Am I missing something? I can't believe that you can't save these...

EDIT: I tested a bit more. Apparently the controller assignments save with the vst plugin, but not with the audio unit. can anyone confirm that?

Thanks

Elhardt

I'm using the standalone version of MMV.  It doesn't save controller assignments with a patch either.  I just saves one global set somewhere.  So all the patches you ever create will have the same assignments, which is ridiculous.  I mentioned this in a topic I started back in March, and am including it in my latest post, Massive MMV2 Bug List.  Assignments should save with a patch so you can have different assignments for different patches.

If a global set isn't saved when using Audio Units, I should add that to my bug list which will be sent to Arturia in the future.

This forum, unfortunately seems to be almost dead, and nobody seems to get any questions answered.  God forbid that Arturia should read posts and answer questions.

I've recently bought the Mg mod V and haven't explored it enough to make much of most of your comments. However - it DOES appear that when used as an AU plug-in the MIDI controller assignments are not saved globally, or within the patch.  Not sure about the standalone - I've been using the plug-in as the standalone won't let me name my patches.  So it's one scenario for the MIDI assignments and other for the patchnaming!

I suppose that people have leapt greater hurdles to make great music but I must say that the patch naming bit really does seem very lame and with something as "twiddly" as a Mg modular the MIDI assignmetns is not far behind in the "sorry lads, but......" stakes.

Still like it but I'm suffering for my art a bit here!
