Not able to use update firmware/connection?

Hey there, just got my minibrute. 

 I have it connected via USB, and it is talking fine with my DAW in the form of MIDI, so I am 100% sure the USB cable works fine.  I downloaded the Minibrute connection app, but it says the minibrute is not connected and therefore cannot be edited or updated.   

Any ideas?

Ah yes, that did the trick, thank you.

For some reason, after powering down, and then back on again after update it reverted back to not connecting, and refollowing those directions is not proving fruitful anymore .
