No velocity sensitivity on keyboard

Just received my Minibrute. All working fine accept the keys don't appear to be velocity sensitive - no audible difference in volume no matter how hard or soft I press the keys. Is this something I need to set-up via the PC interface or should it be configured as standard? Anyone else had the same problem?

the keyboard senses and transmits velocity, but the synth architecture has no effect for velocity anywhere.
