Spark as a VST in Ableton Live 8? Can't access MIDI Control Center?

Hello fellow Spark users,

I can't get Spark to run as a VST plugin in Ableton Suite 8. I've rescanned the Plug-in folder. Does it have to do with the installation? I put my VST plug-in folder as the destination both times (for 64-bit and I guess the 32-bit version?). And I couldn't locate a Spark.dll file to stick in the folder.

I also can't get the MIDI control center to run, at all. It'll come up but remain as a blank white box. I uninstalled and reinstalled Spark, still won't work. So, I can't get the Ableton Live template to work either. What's the issue there? And what exactly are the capabilities of Spark as a MIDI controller in Ableton? Can I assign knobs on the Spark to control the macro knobs on the drum rack, for example?

Just to throw in another issue that I've already seen documented on this forum, the Circuit Freq kit won't load properly.

Hi,
try to reinstall the application and uncheck the 64 bit vst.
After the installation make sure Spark.dll is well placed in the folder.
Then launch Ableton Live.

Concerning MCC, there is a hotfix available here.

The MCC hotfix worked, but the VST plugin still won't. I'm looking at the .dll file in the VST folder right now. I tried both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Ableton just won't pick it up. Yes, I've rescanned my plugin folder numerous times.

The 64 bit wont work because Ableton Live is 32 bit.
I really don't know what could be the problem.
You can try to put the 32 bit VST in another folder and scan this folder in Live.

That actually did the trick! I don't know why being contained in a folder makes a difference, but as long as it works. Thanks for your help!
