Hit Setup Key

Hit Curve Key

Turn Category knob until it shows Velocity

Turn Preset from 00-10

Hit Store Key

Push Preset Knob

Push Preset Knob again

Problem is I can't see any difference. So something is wrong with the procedure above.

Manual sure does stink.

Finally got it.

First I Factory Reset:
Power On with +/- Octave Buttons Down

To Change velocity curve:
Hit Setup Key
Hit Curve Key
Turn Category knob until it shows Velocity
Turn Preset/Value Knob from 00-10 (10 is On/Off no Velocity)
PUSH Preset/Value Knob after select (You can test KeyBoard Response here)
Hit Store Key
Turn Preset to desired Preset ## (I think it boots to Preset 00) so I choose Preset 00 here
Push Preset Knob
Push Preset Knob again

Toggle Power to confirm it sticks.

I will reiterate the Manual is dreadful. I spent hours F'ing with it until I figured this out purely by trial and error.

By the way I had this re-boxed ready to return because of this issue but decided to give it one more try. I'll bet the person that started this thread already returned his/hers.

It was between this Keyboard and a Novation SL MKII which is also very nice but their Velocity Curves (which is very intuitive to change) are just awful.

"Hit the keyboard"
With what??
a sledgehammer.................. ;)

Sorry...I couldn't resist.
My defective 49 keyboard is currently in transit to be returned and replaced with a new one.
Hopefully this replacement won't be more defective than the original.
I've got to admit it though, the keyboards do seem very solid and well made, at least from the outside.
