Phase control for wavetable and VA engine
« on: April 29, 2021, 09:54:08 pm »
Hey,

I bought Pigments 3, and like it a lot. One thing I sorely miss is phase control over the oscillators. VA oscillators and wavetable oscillators seem to be always free running. Would be great to have the option to retrigger the phase, and set the phase for the oscillators. It's a must have feature for me really. Please consider. Thanks.

Hi,

In the Wavetable engine you allready have the four PHASE MOD Sync/ Retrig options.
In the Analog engine you can set the Drift parameter to zero. That also reset the phase at keypress.

In the Wavetable engine you allready have the four PHASE MOD Sync/ Retrig options.

That doesn't let you set the phase (in degree) of the waveform, nor does it phase when you use unison.

In the Analog engine you can set the Drift parameter to zero. That also reset the phase at keypress.

See above.

In fact, I don't even know what these option do. They definitely don't do what I'm asking for: Retrigger the phase on each new note, and allowing me to set the phase start of the waveform.

It's true, that you can't manually select a specific fixed waveform phase, and then have it to reset to that specific phase.
Also you can't manually change the phases of the different unison OSCs voices.

In Pigments 3 you can reset the phase also in Unison mode though - except for the Supersaw.

But yes you does'nt have parameters, where you manually can select the specific fixed start phase for a engine, for each of the OSCs/ voices added in Unison modes, or for the 3 OSCs in the Analog section. That's a valid request. I also did'nt say, this was possible.
And yes - Reset phase in the Analog section could be a seperate parameter.

Hi chakko !
I've logged your feature request, since i also need this feature to make proper bass sounds.
I hope it will be part of a future update.
Thanks for the feedback!
Cheers!

Any more news? I'd love to have this feature.

I also vote for this feature. I just submitted an additional feature request asking for the same exact thing - we need to be able to control the cycle start point of our OSC modules!
