Shift+Knobs or Faders for twice the controls?

I love what you guys have made, but I am stuck in a multiples of 8 paradigm, so I need either 8 or 16 controls.
The new Minilab has 8+4, which could easily be 16+8 if we were able to use Shift to double the count.

Is this even possible?

It's strange that this is not a feature. Arturia just wanted to push this POS out in time for holidays
