Voice component modeling.
« on: November 28, 2020, 07:20:46 pm »
It would be cool if Arturia could implement different modes via firmware that would
Apply offsets per voice to pitch, envelope etc, to simulate the instability of vintage synths,

Kind of like the “vintage” knob on the new Prophet 5 rev 4.

Which seems very in-line with the research done by this fellow who goes by creativespiral,

Here is his webpage talking about how to apply specific offsets that could emulate the behavior of various vintage synths.

Voice number is available as a mod source so you could roll your own by assigning the routing to multiple destinations.

Modulate via [Voices] whatever you want (Pitch, Cutoff, any Destination). WAY better then a vintage knob.

In addition to the suggestions above, try the Pitch Accuracy setting under the Fine Tune knob. Quick and easy way to get a raw vintage sound.

I released a sound set using extensive voice modeling (VCM).  Here's a demo:

Also, I have uploaded an example VCM template for Polybrute... starting point for a MemoryMoog style patch:
https://www.presetpatch.com/f/Arturia-PolyBrute/Polybrute_VCM_TemplateMM_CS_pbx

This is a Vintage Voice Modeling (VCM) template. INIT Starting point for a MemoryMoog style patch. 3 oscillators. Per voice variance to tuning intonation, fine tuning offset, filter cutoff, resonance, filter and amp ADR timings, noise, and a transient pitch settle effect via the mod envelope.

I'll be uploading some more templates and additional information about voice modeling on Polybrute soon.

Nice patch library. I will certainly pick it up soon from your site
