pads 9-16 triggering ableton clips

For some reason, ableton seems to be triggering the record clip/stop clip button when i click pads 9-16 on the ableton preset. Anyone else with this problem?
list of things ive tried:
Factory Reset
Firmware update
Reinstalling ableton live lite
