Minilab Mk2 and Ableton Live
« on: December 09, 2020, 01:45:03 am »
Hey, so I have a few questions. I just got the Minilab MK2 and am trying to use it in Ableton Live but the knobs act really strangely.

The mk2 works great in the standalone Analog Lab 4, but when I try it as a vst in Live the knob values jump around. In the standalone version, the knobs will pickup wherever the parameter value is even if I just opened a new preset. I would expect this same behavior in the vst in Live but the parameter values will jump to wherever the knob thinks it is (I think that is what is happening). I have played around with the different knob options (absolute, relative #1, etc) but none of that helps. I also make sure I'm on pad 1. Am I missing something or is this just what happens?

I also tried to map some parameters to a knob on a different pad, but I get the same jumps generally. In Ableton I can switch the takeover mode to pickup and that is mostly ok, but isn't that great. The knobs are infinite so I'm confused why this is happening. Am I missing something here too?

Hopefully this is an easy fix, or maybe I got a defective unit.

Thanks! Also, what is with this verification process...

Hi and welcome to Arturia forums.

I don't use Ableton Live or MiniLab. But i assume Lives controls, shall be set to the same relative mode, or something like that.
Perhaps you can get help here: https://www.ableton.com/en/manual/midi-and-key-remote-control/

Aslo be sure you controller is set up correct in Abletons Preferences.
