Running MIDI Control Center through WINE on Ubuntu (16.04)
« on: October 07, 2020, 09:33:23 pm »
Hi there, I posted something accidentally on an old support topic, so now just posting it to the right location (sorry, moderators, I'm new to this!)

I initially came across this thread: https://forum.arturia.com/index.php?topic=93137.msg175842#msg175842 (which is where I accidentally "replied" when I meant to start a new thread...) and KurtJ has found that there's a patch under WINE in order to run Arturia's MIDI Control Center application. This is great news! However, I don't know how to apply this patch in WINE. I'm not going to compile the code myself, because that sounds ridiculous.

In any case, I got the software up and running in WINE (I'm using the latest stable version and using Ubuntu 16.04). It automatically loads the BeatStep GUI/controller, so I plug in my Keystep, and the software continues to hum along.... except for the fact that over time, the software crashes with an error message. See both of my screenshots.

Yes, I figure this is likely a WINE issue, which again leads me to this patch which KurtJ has outlined. It sounds like he got it running and that this patch works, but does anyone know how to use this patch?
