Mod Wheel functionality for touch strip and matrix
« on: May 16, 2019, 02:05:23 pm »
It would be great if the touch strip could be used as a mod-wheel.

Implementation suggestion:

-If you press the lit icon key (spice, dice or bend) all three lights go out and the touch strip functions as mod wheel
-When adjusting any matrix point while holding "Shift" you adjust not the normal matrix point amount, but a dedicated "Mod wheel amount".
-Mod wheel should send / receive cc01
-Utility-preset setting: MW always returns to 0 when releasing Touch strip OR MW remains at last held value when releasing finger
-Possibility to record the modwheel as one of the motion sequences????

If the CPU power is available for this, it would graetly expand the modulation possibilities, as well as the integration with external hardwarecontrollers. This way you could "morph" a whole preset, just by using the "mod wheel"

I like it! A tad obscure UI wise perhaps, but so powerful it'd be worth it, if the CPU can do it  :)

I like this one too. However it is done, mod wheel/strip functionality would be great.

+1 ... perhaps splitting the strip to two ? and having some rows in matrix (sources) configurable to be strip, velocity, aftertouch etc

Rows donīt need to be configurable if an additional MW-amount parameter is implemented PER patch point as I suggested; much more options in that case :)

Easy UI implementation as well; just holding shift when adjusting a patch point amount.....

Accidentally created a thread with the same idea. Deleted, here is the content:

Holding Shift + Bend should allow the next touched knob/parameter to be controlled by the pitch bend strip.

The amount could then be selected and locked in with the Matrix knob.

It could all work similar to the way assigning the three custom parameters works in the matrix.

It could alternatively be used to replace the Key/Arp row as an option in the Patch Utility to allow for more flexibility/power!

This would be fantastic. Sometimes using an external controler is just more convenient and having the ability to actually use the mod wheel would be very welcome.
