Rests in sequences
« on: August 17, 2006, 11:15:00 pm »
Hi,

This is probably an old one and I can't recall seeing it in the manual, but I've just dicovered that turning a sequncer knob fully clockwise (whilst modulating VCO pitch) results in a rest (or silent event).

I reckon a good way to mess with an existing sequence is to turn all the knobs fully clockwise so you've got silence, then turn three or four anti-clockwise to taste  (leaving a couple silent for contrast / groove). IMO these rests really emphasise portmento (smooth knob) allowing you to get some mad sequences going - Drexciya?

I'm starting to realise this is truly a deep instrument!

Thanks,
