Cannot Update To Latest Firmware (v1.0.4.114)

Hi,

I am having trouble updating the firmware on my Microbrute to the latest version (1.0.4.114) using Windows 10 64bit OS.

When I press the "update firmware" button in the Microbrute Connection Software, there is no prompt or dialogue box asking for any location for the new firmware, it just starts installing the firmware using the existing "MicroBrute_Firmware_Release_V1.0.3.2.mbf" file, which comes included in the Connection Software download. (The software on my Microbrute is already at 1.0.3.2)

How do I update to the 1.0.4.114 version? If I delete the MicroBrute_Firmware_Release_V1.0.3.2.mbf file from the Micobrute Connection Software folder and replace it with "MicroBrute_Firmware_Update_1_0_4_114.mbf", then run the update firmware, the Connection Software crashes and creates a zero kb version of the V1.0.3.2.mbf file in the Connection Software folder.

The manual makes no mention of how the update firmware process works. It simply says to press the "update firmware" button and "follow on-screen directions", but there are no prompts for any user input, it just goes through the update process....no prompt to actually select the firmware file to use.

If BOTH firmware files are in the Connection Software folder, there is no prompt for which file to use, the update process uses the 1.0.3.2 file and ignores the new 1.0.4.114 version.

What is the correct process to update the firmware to this new version?

You can use the MIDI Control Center for this now.

It will update. Only snag is that it will report after the update that the firmware is 1.0.4.0, not 1.0.4.114.

I already sent an email to Arturia for this.

I will try updating with the Midi Control center, although I had never heard of it until you bought it to my attention!

yeah - a bit frustrating that [ osx mavericks ]

wasted a bit of time using the microbrute app to no avail

bailed out and tried the midi control centre just on the off chance

if there's any issues, this could at least have been in notes with the release

and agreed, it still reports an update is available, it's listed as 1.0.4.0

Reply from Arturia regarding the version number AFTER the upgrade:

Hello.

There is a little bug in the Arturia Software Center preventing to correctly read the firmware revision.

So simply ignore this, once updated, your firmware will be up to date.

We will fix this display bug in the forthcoming firmware update.

I wish there was a way to reset to factory defaults.
Tried to use MIDI updater, it immediately wanted to update the firmware which I did. I downloaded the update and saved it on my WIN7 64bit desktop and pointed the updater to the file. The updater reported a successful update and told me to reboot the microbrute. I did so by pressing both octave keys simultaneously and then pressing OK. Nothing happened and now the MIDI updater is stuck in a loop and the sequencer doesn't work. Great hardware, bad software. I may have to return the Microbrute, sad.

Year and a half+, no firmware update, no fix to this issue.

Its a pitty... Im in the same situation... Arturia Center says that I need to update... my microbrute seems to update... but when I restart... again I need to update... its crazy. No ideas ? thank you.
