Possible to increase gate voltage?
« on: April 29, 2019, 08:22:03 pm »
I was trying to control my SH-2 with my Minibrute 2s pads but couldn't get it to work.  I looked in the Minibrute 2s manual and see that the gate output is 5v. My SH-2 requires 7.5V minimum.

Is it possible to increase the gate voltage output from the 2s?

I know I frequently used my original minibrute to control my sh-2. I checked the manual for the MB and couldn't find the gate voltage spec but the gate output on the microbrute appears to be 10V.

It may not be the gate voltage, it could be the slope of the gate envelop.

You could try using the square wave LFO. This can be set to 10v output if you use the MIDI Control Centre software.

Remember, as the output is an LFO. If you set one step to 50% on a quant of 1 note it should trigger a gate for 50% of the step. It is an LFO so if you want steps without gates you need to set the LFO to 0% for the quiet steps.
