My friend and I were recording the Brute in Pro Tools (I think he has PT 11) and I was noticing that the default behavior for the sequencer was dependent on the grid in pro tools. Specifically, if you try to midi sync the brute sequencer with Pro Tools the sequence will start in relation to where you are in the grid in pro tools.
In our case, the sequence was starting on step 5 or 6 when you hit record. I found a way around this in which I would manually start the sequencer by engaging 'key hold' while in midi sync, and then press the note on the keyboard that you want to start the sequence on. This causes the play button to flash and when you start recording, the brute seems to ignore the grid and start/stop message coming from pro tools. Then I would press 'play' on the sequencer on the appropriate beat and it would start the sequence from the beginning.
I am not very proficient with sequencing or the default behaviors of syncing with DAWs. It seems like there would be some way to change this behavior but perhaps I'm overlooking something simple. In any event, I'm glad the work around is there.
I hope this helps
