MIDI note off loop in Pro Tools 12

I've used the MB with both Logic and Ableton Live without issue, but when trying to run it with Pro Tools, I keep getting hanging notes and MIDI loops.

Local is OFF, and Pro Tools has MIDI Thru is ON. Turning this off stops the looping (but not the hanging note), but of course I lose control of the MB via its keyboard. The 'All MIDI Notes Off' command from PT stops the hanging notes, but not the MIDI note off messages.

I've checked the MIDI monitor in the MCC and it's always the note off messages that are getting looped. This is all with the MB as the only MIDI device that is switched on.

Can anyone help?!

I am having the same problem. I've posted several times but have not got a decent answer yet! It's a real pain and leaves the MB unusable with PT's.

For what it's worth, I've had similar issues using PT with other gear; Yamaha P-115, Jupiter-80 & Avid MBox 2. Seemed to occur more frequent during fast key on/off intervals.  Figured it was just buggy PT code.

EDIT: Notes would stick on more frequently while playing keys during MIDI program changes. I never did find a solution but changed my workflow as a work around.

Others believe the issue is caused by m-audio interface using regular MIDI cables vs USB (ref http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=185552).

I think that this issue is caused by the "Default THRU instrument".

Please set it to "None" and the issue should vanish.

If Midi Thru is turned off in PT then no midi is received. So, if local off is turned off there is no sound.
