Accepting non-balanced mic input via Jack
« on: August 08, 2020, 04:53:18 am »
Hello,

Several devices I own can't be used :
- Rode Wireless Go set of microphones.
- A lavalier jack mic
- A on-camera mic

The output is a mini jack, as all cheap and on-camera mic are.
I'm using a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter and plug it in either line or mic inputs of the Audiofuse Studio.

I have two big problems :
- It's detected as line, should be mic.
- Even with the mic input preamp gain on max, I'm not matching line level.
- The jack has to be half plugged for audio to be detected

I'm guessing this is simply a non-balanced mic input.

If it's an hardware problem I would understand, but still wanted to report it.

Edit: I found out I could use the phono input.
