Looper gets stuck, have to power off to reset
« on: October 22, 2017, 05:27:08 am »
Hey guys,

New here. Searched a bit for any related threads and didn't find anything.

Basically, during a set I played today (and this has been happening in practice), when using the looper it got stuck (at the time it was 1/16 loop), and during it being stuck I could not change patterns, and stopping/starting again did not solve it.  I had to shut it off mid-set to bring it back to normal.

I have the latest firmware update, and am using it as a master clock with ableton as slave. I experience it even more often when Ableton is mater and BSP is slave.

Anyone having this issue and know what might be the problem?

Thank ya~~

Hi waycroft,
  • Can you unlock it if you touch it and release it again?
  • Try to set this option "MIDI Send/Receive" to "No" in the MIDI Control Center

@grec:

I have tried touching/releasing again as a way to un-stuck it. Really I've pressed every button, only thing that does it is powering off/on.

I will troubleshoot with the send/receive trick. Hopefully that works.

Unfortunately it's difficult to replicate since it kind of happens on its own.

I'll update and if anyone tries this please let me know if they have experience with this issue/any luck.

Best!

@grec : I'm pretty sure this is related to the bug I reported (https://forum.arturia.com/index.php?topic=91109.0).

If so, then good news (read that thread).

I do not think so. I think it may be a hardware issue.

Hi al16bit,
I saw in you other post that you are using a DrumBrute. Does the looper get stuck without DrumBrute being connected?
Either you have a touchstrip hardware issue, either you created some MIDI loopback.

also, it cannot be a midi loopback, as there is no midi in signal going to the beatstep at all.

So should i contact you guys or the retailer then?

I admit I don't know what will be faster. It depends where you live, where you bought your device. I think the choice is up to you.
