Hi spirit68,
1. Select a scale, e.g. E major.
I think you meant "transpose to E". Transpose is SEQUENCER 1/2 + Pad. Scale is SHIFT + Pad.
4. play. it will now transpose your arp from C major to E maj, so it will play G#, C, D#
This is normal. The notes are recorded in the memory as they are received. C is recorded as C, D# is recorded as D#, etc.
Transpose will not alter the recorded notes in the BSP, but it will change them on the flow (change what will be sent via MIDI), while playing. This way, the transposition is not destructive and your original sequence is kept. Moreover, the pads, when acting like a keyboard, are not affected by the transposition.
Your notes are recorded as E, G#, B, but as you ask for transposing your arpeggio +2 tones, it is then played:
E + 2 tones, G# + 2 tones, B + 2 tones = G#, C, D#
If you go back to C transposition, you will hear your E, G#, B sequence.
Scales are used to enter notes via the encoders and can now be used to convert an existing sequence to a new scale (since firmware v2.0.0.2).
Best,
Y.
