Piano v converting from midi to audio
« on: April 11, 2017, 07:11:04 pm »
I am creating a series of different classical music songs From the Pianist.  There are about 900 songs from Pianist.  PG music, they discontinued it but I still use it.  I've discovered I can represent 900 choices by using 30 numbers cut up and so I assigned Piano v to the Instrument track but everything is coming in as midi.  I would like to convert the track to audio in Sonar X3 does anyone know how to do this?  Thanks so much.

As far as I can tell I like Piano V.  Too many people criticize instead of finding solutions themselves.

Are you saying you have a MIDI track in Sonar containing actual MIDI notes that play Piano V assigned to the track?
Then without knowing Sonar i guees you have some options. One is to make a mixdown. Another perhaps to bounce the track. And perhaps you can stem out. But that's about Sonar not about Piano V. Please refer to Sonar manual.

I figured that part of it out.  I needed to expand the fx parameters so the fx would show up.  I then was able to apply effects.  But I can export it out as a wave file but I am not sure how to bounce a track I guess that's what they call it.  Thanks.  Also I listened to the piano's and still am trying to get used to the way they react over different formations.    Is there a presets page I havent been able to get them to work yet?  I just got Collection V yesterday.

Hi had a quick look on the Sonar site and found this, http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR%20X3&language=3&help=SoftSynths.19.html

I hope this helps in recording the output of the Piano V or generically any of the software synths in the V Collection.

I also had a look at importing midi files into Sonar, http://forum.cakewalk.com/How-to-import-midi-files-in-Sonar-8-m1890342.aspx

All the software synths effectively turn midi into audio.

All the V Collection have the same preset page, where you can use the ones provided, or create your own. Look in the top left hand corner and you will see a coloured area with the name of the synth and to the right of this is a symbol made up of vertical lines, click this and the preset menu will open and either double click on the preset you find to close the menu of click the symbol again.

Hope this helps

Not sure what you mean by getting them (presets) to work.
I suggest you spend some time to learn.

You can download manuals here: https://www.arturia.com/support/updates&manuals

There are some videos about Piano V here: https://www.arturia.com/piano-v/media

There are some the presets in Piano V. Perhaps you can find some more on the web. At the moment i don't think there are more presets for Piano V on any Arturia page.
