Gate outputs with velocity
« on: February 05, 2017, 05:29:36 pm »
If you are running vintage electronic drum module (like Simmons or Pearl) from the BSP, you cannot have velocity because the gate outputs are flat, always giving the same voltage. I wonder if it would be possible to change that so that the voltage depends on the velocity. If the electronic component involved is not a simple gate but some kind of a D/A converter we might be lucky...

That would make the BSP absolute must have for anyone having a knack for these wonderful analog beasts. Currently there is no way to run them from a sequencer with velocity. Am I wrong?

Excellent idea. Drum triggers with varying voltage, tied to pad velocity, would be a great addition (if possible). I use the Vermona DRM connected to BSP and velocity response works well via midi, it would be great to have the same functionality for other percussion modules requiring trigger pulse input signals.

Hi guys,
This is not possible.

It is a simple gate for Drum outputs.
